| 描述: | Listening to Aussensiter's acoustic piece instantly reminded me of songs like "Temple of the King" and "House of the Rising Sun". There's something in that chord progression that just says Bittersweet. Initially I toyed with some lyrics and did a test vocal recording but that didn't work out. Horrible singing. Gave up on the remix. By chance, I saw some words that my missus wrote for her calligraphy practice. I said the words sounded like a poem, and she pointed me to Francis William Bourdillon's "The Night Has a Thousand Eyes". Oh wow. Such beautiful imagery. Public Domain too. Set up the mic and recorded several takes. Decided on the least sucky take. I've uploaded my vocal stems if anyone cares to give it a go. This poem gives me the chills. It's brilliant: The Night Has a Thousand Eyes. Francis William Bourdillon (b. 1852) The night has a thousand eyes, And the day but one; Yet the light of the bright world dies With the dying sun. The mind has a thousand eyes, And the heart but one; Yet the light of a whole life dies When love is done. |
