描述: | A totally synthetic explosion sound that could be the firing of a large gun instead of a bomb exploding. Unlike the lowernumbers in this series, this is the first to purposely use a lowfrequency hump just after the initial impulse begins, which upon simulating the overdriving of a microphone (via distortion) results in a relative drop in the high frequency content for a tenth of a second or so. This in turn creates a sound much more familiar to our ears, as it sounds more like how explosions tend to sound in all the old movies. This one is relatively short compared to its predecessors, but still has enough ambiance following it that you can shape the envelope to suit your needs (making it sound nearer or farther). As it sits, it could very well be a shell exploding or being fired (by artillery or a tank, or whatever you want). All in all, a nice variation on the theme so far. Like the others in this series, this sound is totally synthetic, created within Cool Edit Pro (the ancestor of modernday Adobe Audition). |
