A Cardinal continuously sings, along with Tennessee Warbler, and Blackcapped Chickadee dawn song. American Redstart, Wood Thrush, Redbellied Woodpecker, and a couple "piks" of a Least Flycatcher are also heard. An approaching train fades in and rumbles through downtown Rochester in the distance. Sirens and other urban noises are also part of the ambience. Equipment used was an 18" parabolic dish (Edmund Scientific) with homemade components housing Sound Professionals binaural mics, along with a Sony MZNH1 HD minidisc recorder. |
