| 描述: | The Turing Welchman Bombe Rebuild Trust have kindly given me permission to upload this recording of the Bombe at Bletchley Park. The recording was made on my Sony ICDBX112. This sound is immensely historical and I'm proud to be allowed to upload it to Freesound. The Bombe was invented by Turing and Welchman to decipher the German Enigma Machine codes in the Second World War. It helped to end the war and save countless lives. The work for this machine also gave birth to computing, so the device you are reading these words on came out of the Bombe. I think it's a massive understatement to say the machine that made this sound shaped our lives immeasurably. IMPORTANTThis recording may not be used for commercial purposes. If used for noncommercial purposes it MUST be attributed in the following way "used by kind permission of The Turing Welchman Bombe Rebuild Trust". A link to http://www.bletchleypark.org.uk is not necessary but would be a nice gesture. If you use the sound, please comment about what you've done. I'd be excited to hear someone has found a use for it |
