| 描述: | Recorded just before dusk from the Iroquois NWR in Western NY next to the Onondaga Pool. The focus was on a male Downy Woodpecker that was softly foraging in a box alder tree in front of me. Redwinged Blackbird, American Robin, Yellow Warbler and Common Yellowthroat are calling, along with Gray Tree Frogs in the background. The distant call of a Veery can also be heard along with the whining of a farm combine, off the refuge over a mile away. A mosquito or two that hovered around are also picked up in the recording. Equipment used was an 18" parabolic dish (Edmund Scientific) with homemade components housing Sound Professionals binaural mics, along with a Sony MZNH1 HD minidisc recorder. |
