| 描述: | Recorded with Tascam DR05 with inbuilt microphones April 2013 at the local round of the New South Wales/ACT State Hillclimb Championship Series, Fairbairn Hillclimb Circuit, Canberra. Vintage Formula ??? Race Car with inline General Motors 6cylinder race prepared engine, midships, chassis reminded me of 1960’s Formula Aus racecar, openwheel, about size of Formula Ford but longer. Engine was a General Motors Holdens 6cyl inline donk from a road sedan. This engine was built in Australia from just after WW2 until the late 1980’s and is very similar, if not almost identical, in design to the GM Chevrolet 6cylinder engine of the same era. The smooth sounding engine featured racestrong interals, wild camshaft profiles, triple Webber twin sidedraft race carburettors, and straight open exhaust headers out the rear, overtop a Hewland straight cut race gearbox in the rear. The car approaches the starting line, does a quick burnout to warm the drivetyres, and waits for the GO light, and speeds off on the hill climb course. (One car on race circuit at a time.) |
