| 描述: | This is a street paving job at night, when there is no passing traffic. To the left is the paving machine and a 6 man crew. To the right, and moving across the sound field are rolling machines, one very large on and later, a small one. There is a general hum of generators from all directions powering portable light poles. The paving machine emits many highpitched squeals and whines as it slowly moves to the left. It starts and stops several times, and there is shouting from the crew. The big roller slowly enters from the right. It's slightly downhill, so mostly you hear the squeaking of its steering mechanism until it returns to the right, at which point you hear the very loud low frequency rumble of its engine as it climbs the hill. At about 7 minutes, a workman is told to start using the small roller, and he hustles off to the right to put it into operation. That unit can be heard faintly near the end. By this time the paving machine is practically inaudible. Recorded at 44K 24 bit with a Tascam DR05 using the supplied mics. |
